Welcome to
2008
The 2008 fall sports season is upon us and anyone who made it
to the stadium last year knows what a difference the new lights
make. We just have one problem. The lights are still not paid for.
The NHS Stadium Fund will continue to raise money in order to pay
them off. A Beef and Beer is in the making for sometime in the
spring and as always donations to the Stadium Fund are tax
deductable.
Please stop by our kiosk located next to the concession stand
and say Hi. We will be there to answer questions, take donations or
just chat.
The Alumni Classes of 1966, 1967, & 1968 have partnered
with the NHS Stadium fund to provide an online option for making
donations to the stadium fund. Just visit the Alumni Classes of
1966, 1967, & 1968 website at:
http://nhs-carpediem.com and
click on the events purchases tab and follow the instructions for
donating to the stadium fund.
The stadium fund
would like to thank the Classes of '66, '67 & '68 for making
this option available. And as always, your donation is tax

Newark High School Still needs your
help!!
In
1987 a group of football boosters decided to bring Friday
Night Football to Newark High
School. Light 'em Up Jackets
became their motto. Through their hard work and
percervierence, a new Tradition was born. Twenty years later
Newark High
School needs your help to Light
‘em Up Jackets… Again.
The lights in Hoffman Stadium have been condemned and are in
need of repair or replacement to continue the tradition of
night activities in the stadium. A group of alumni,
parents and coaches have formed the NHS Stadium Fund
Committee in order to achieve this Herculean task. A
special fund has been set up to collect donations for the
project, but more than money is needed. We need help in
raising funds. We need help with preparing the stadium for the
renovations. We need help in spreading the word. We need YOU!!
It doesn't matter if you graduated NHS before Friday Nights
became part of "The Tradition" or if you've only ever
watched home games under the lights. It doesn't matter if you
try not to miss a home game or if you've never been to the
Stadium. It doesn’t matter if you were an athlete or not. What
matters is having pride in NHS and being able to show it.
What matters are visitors’ entering the stadium knowing
that it is a top level facility. What matters is
NHS having the ability to showcase its student body the
best way it can.
Please contact us to let us know how you can help. Thank you
for your support. |
